MAC does another collaboration [UPDATED!]

MAC for Rodarte Collection
Autumn 2010

So Rodarte, for those not in the know (me before I wiki'd) is a brand of clothing and accessories which was founded by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. They have collaborated with Gap and Target. They focus on gothic and distressed designs as well as layered gowns.
There has been some controversy surrounding this line as some of the names have offended (I cannot for the life of me see why) and from this the starting date has been pushed back slightly so not a lot of images have been released, that I can find, at the minute. From the sounds of it, it focuses around very simple and somewhat 80s themes especially sutrounding the pale colours of the lipsticks.
Lipsticks:
  • Ghost Town; sheer white, gold and green pearlised pigment
  • Rose State; Mid tone blue pink
  • Sleepless; Light grey taupe.
As well as lipsticks they are also specialising in lipglass, mineralised eyeshadows, pigments, powder, blush and nail laquer.
Here are the few photos that I have been able to find. If I come across anymore I will upload :)

Overall the collection looks quite nice, slightly Ice Queen but from the sounds of it very close to the Rodarte way of life!

UPDATE!
I have finally found out why there is such controversy surrouding this range! This range has been said to be inspired by Juarez which is a town in Mexico where over 400 girls have been raped and murdered and the killings never solved.
They named items in the collection things like ‘Ghost Town’, which was highly inappropriate, given what has actually happened there. They also had no plans to donate any of the proceeds to a cause that could help the people of Juarez. It seemed like nothing more than profiting from people’s pain.

Hundreds of blogs were written about this and nearly 1300 people signed their name to a petition against it. Yesterday, the news came from Mac that they will now be donating 100% of the profits from this collection to the people of Juarez.

So overall, like yeah, I understand it now. Bit on the wild and wrong side for my liking!

Another collaboration from MAC!

Wonder Woman.
(DC Comics & MAC)
Spring 2011.

I know this is a bit far off but I'm ever so excited to see what this line could possibly bring to the life of MAC and me!
The whole range of colour cosmetics will be based around and featuring Diana Prince. This is one range I will definitely be purchasing (as the Disney Villians one has just seemed to drop off the planet- must research). I cannot wait to see whats included maybe an Amazonian lipstick, Tiara Gold eyeshadow and ofc an invsible Airplane concealor!
I feel the packaging will be as amazing as the product!

Venomous Villains

Venomous Villains is the new title for MACs new make up range which will be hitting us in September! (I'm not stating the villians below are the ones who are being released, but they should be)
Normally I find their collaborations a little 'pink' for me, ergo Hello Kitty and Barbie.
BUTTTT
this Disney collaboration looks good!
Not a lot has been released about this yet apart from this video (CLICK HERE!) which has a hell of a load of hints!
Enjoy.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

Soooo I have naturally curly hair (duh) and as much as I love the idea of long luscious locks I know that it just will NOT suit my hair type, no matter how hard I try in cultivating it.
I find it very hard to find 1) a hairdresser who cuts curly hair well and, 2) when looking through hair magazines all of the models with 'naturally' curly hair are well, just curlers and fake.
At the minute, my hair is slightly longer than shoulder length and I may be brave and go super short.
Likeeee,

Overall, I just want nice hairrrrrrr.
So I feel I need to invest in beautiful hair jewelry such as:
(From Centre Top, Clockwise)
Mikey Flower headband £16.00
Red Flower Hair Slides, Dorothy Perkins, £6.00
Satin Corsage, New Look, £4.00
Lace Headband, Dorothy Perkings, £6.00
Cameo Kirby Grips. Topshop, £8.00
Rose Headband, Topshop, £8.00
Cameo Style Headband, ASOS, £6.00
Darling Hair Grip, ASOS, £4.00
Ribbon Broach Headband, New Look, £10.00
Swarovski Crystal Petal Hair Piece – £100.00

Made Up.

Everyone is going craaaaazay for this new make-up range and I think I may sign up to this new trend.
It's called Lime Crime and was originally created in New York by one Doe Deere (a female deer) in like 2008 or something.

The range hosts so many funky colours and are in general fashion-led for the fashion conscious in us all.
It has built a cult following, which I intend to join!

The range is online here: Space NK
