Hectic

My life has been full of change as of late. I am preparing to move into my own little home come September as well as preparing for another year at University! Mostly I have been shopping for items for my new home as well as catching up on reading and meeting with friends! I've had a lovely time and here are some photos of what I have been upto, I promise to write a proper post later on today but I am just fitting this in around cleaning/washing and washing up!

From Top:

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!

...however if Adam decides to let me have his new pocket watch I doubt I will ever be late again!
I mean seriously, how beautiful is this watch?! I neeeeed it! I hope Adam will let me share it at the very least!
Its so cute that it even has to be wound for it to work! No more batteries to be bought!
Ahhhh, Adam, you beautiful thing, when you read this please let me at least share this watch! xx

I know I said...

BRB, but I didn't mean for this amount of time! I am so sorry for being absent for so long.
However I do have a very good reason behind it! Adam and I had food poisoning from undercooked chicken, which resulted in both of us being laid up in bed for just under a week! On top of this I have now started my second and final placement of my first year, so again that has been incredibly hectic.

However the few days in which I have felt okay, I have made the most of it!

Lemonade at the Tyneside with my Mum :)
Chinese Bamboo steamer with noodles before and after, with some steamed mange toit, they were actually delicious! Really enjoyed it. I hope to make some lovely, sweer goodies this weekend and if I do, I promise to keep you informed! Hope you are all well xx

Wreck This Journal.

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a lovely day! I have decided that I am going to spread my birthday over a week so that I can have special days with many different special people. I got lots of lovely presents but I would like to bring attention to one in particular.

Wreck this Journal is a book by Keri Smith, and it focuses around the individual carrying out small tasks within the book so that memories can be made. I like this idea as it allows me to stand outside of my own box and not always be a perfectionist within notebooks, I have wicked OCD relating to this :).

It tells people to carry this journal around with them everywhere incase another page can be completeled, I doubt I will manage this but I am going to try, at the very least :) xx

Birthday Wishes.

In 9 days it is my birthday and I will hit the grand ol' age of 22!
Following this I don't want a lot, well nothing off the top off my head, and there is nothing that I need so I decided to be completely extravagant and ask for another pair of glasses! I have a pair of Police sunglasses which are based on Ray Bans Wayfarers and so I decided to see whether I could find a pair for my day-to-day glasses.

And well I found this pair! Aren't they just so pretty?! I cannot wait to go pick them up :)
Unfortunately my Mum won't let me go and collect them until the day of my birthday but hey ho!
xx

FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

And my gosh am I excited! Not as excited as some people I know who have casually decided to now officially adopt shorts until winter but hey ho, each to their own. I have been completely missing in action regarding blogging and I apologise. I just have a hell of a lot of work to do on top of my normal routine; we only had 5 weeks of uni in between two placements. I love placement though and cannot wait to find out when my next one is!
Even though I have decided against the shorts, I am so excited for some warmer weather; the weather has been lovely here lately. I have been out and about and not feeling freezing, which of course is what I need!  Here are some photos from my last week; Rupert my puppy, how lovely the weather has been and an essay that is currently in progress! xx

Blood Brothers.

Blood Brothers is one of my all time favourite musicals. It's up there with 'RENT', 'We Will Rock You' as well as many others. (RENT will always be my all time favourite and I throughly recommend it to everyone!)
Last night, I was lucky enough to see Blood Brothers yet again with my Mum and yet again it was amazing. I have seen this musical countless times and, luckily, I have seen one of the main characters called Mickey, played by the same actor who is amazing! Every time I have been it has been a different mother, Mrs Johnston, but last night was by far my favourite (Sorry the Nolan sisters!). Suprisingly she was actually a finalist in X Factor back in the day but didn't win it because she didn't have the commercial presence behind it. Personally I'm glad she didn't win as she was fab! I'm not entirely sure how many dates are left at Newcastle, or if any tickets are left, but I feel if there is everyone should go!
One of the reasons I love this musical so much is part of the story is about the childhood side of their lives but instead of getting children in the adults act like children and Micky is the blatantly amazing at this. I have seen this particular Micky (below) in every production I have been to see and I can see why they keep him on, he has made the part his own. Obviously I won't give the entire plot away but its set within a working class town in which a Mother has been left by her husband while she has a bunch of kids and twins on the way; following this the rich women who Mrs Johnston works for cannot have babies and forces Mrs J into letting her adopt one of the twins. It is said that if a twin is to find out he was one of a pair that when they discover this they will die and well, whos to say! You better go watch it to find out! xx

Snow Day!

For those of you who follow me on twitter you will have already seen this.

But look what I woke up to! Needless to say I am not totally impressed and I would quite like for it to, pardon my French, bugger off. Gahhh.
I've only just got into the swing of wearing slightly less layers, oh well, back to 6 layers of clothing again! xx

That Friday Feeling

Ahhhh, its Friday and after a really busy and somewhat long week I am looking forward to a quiet weekend.

This photo pretty much sums up my week as I have read and written so much this week that if it was in an actual writing capacity I could have a novel by now!

Anyway my bath is run and I'm going to bathe like the best of them! xx

Boxing Day!

Christmas has been nice, a little hectic but nice!
Now it's time to wallow in my presents and enjoy the company of family and friends!
Instead of explaining what I got up to, here are some photos!

My local area. Mum&I had a little walk through the snow on Christmas day with my little pooch.
I have recieved some gorgeous gifts, my favourite being this lovely Hummingbird brooch and this lovely little suitcases. I really need to sort out my room so these boxes could really help.
Christmas has been fun :). Hope everyone had a good time! xx

"Then we would go home and work on a castle of our own." - Tides of Man.

My life is pretty good at the minute...minus the HUGE amount of work I have had to do. However it is my fault that I left it to the last minute....kinda.
When I haven't been doing work I have adopted a side of a bed and even left items in two houses so I need to g back! I have decided I love being in town, I love being so close to everyone and everything!

So close in fact that in the past 10 ten days I have been to the tattooist 3 times. 3 times?! you may say! How hardcore I do sound and I wish I could say it was all for me but alas, not even one time was for me! Humf. It will be soon however!
The sound of the gun freaks me out a bit but I love the people who I went with so its'all good! Two sessions have been with Kate and her rose tattoo which goes up her ribs (photo to the left, not finished by the way) and once with someone else.

Anyway from being there too many times with other people and not enough for me it had pushed me into getting a bigger tattoo. At the minute I am sporting a little heart tattoo on my wrist which is 'super cute' well thats what the tattooist said today, so I'm sticking with that!

Here are some of the subjects I'm interested in!
Gerbera Umbrella, amazon.co.uk.
Peacock print, deviantart.com.
Cherry Blossom candle holder, Fenwicks.

Flying the Nest 3.

" I no longer prepare food with more than one ingredient."
-Cyra Mcfadden

One of my biggest problems and one of the biggest problems I know of with people of my age group is that a lot of us either do not know how to cook or they just don't want to! I have to admit I am leaning more towards the 'I don't want to approach' as I feel I don't have the technical know how in preparing something, anything edible.
Like in a previous post I do generally live off toast! However, hold the phone, I've incorporated yoghurt! Oh yes, I've gone all out! Another problem with learning how to cook is the overwhelming amount of chefs that are actually out there now! The following are all chefs who are current (now of just have been) and have all released a cook book some time along the line.

This is just a small selection of the chefs that are currently out there! (A more in depth look can be found if you CLICK HERE!) It's unreal the amound there actually is! How am I meant to decide who to go for! Who has the best recipes?! Who can feed me the most? But with the lowest budget!
Well my friends this is my mission! I am on a cooking mission. I am going to learn how to cook! Even if its just something simple I will be utterly delighted.
I am not going to purchase a book by the millions of celeb chefs that seem to be creeping out, but looking at old chefs, simple cooking and of course ask my Mum and Kelly's Gran for tips.

Heres one more chef to add to the list.

Doctor Who!... Once Again!

By now you've probably all guessed that I have a slight love for the Doctor Who series and all that jazz. So today me and my friendling decided to go to the Centre of Life to see the Doctor Who exhibition. Well of course I became click happy with the camera (so much so it died and I had to use my phone) and ran around squealing like a child. Needless to say I enjoyed it throughly and well I will go again.

Heres some photos of me and kelly. Kelly looking lovely and calm and me well, not so much.

Me being a Dalek, yes I am that cool.

Kelly looking through the telescope from the Queen Victoria and the Werewolf Episode (yes I'm a nerd, and yes I paraded around knowing where every character came from)

The Weeping AngelS!

Kelly and the Tardis, I will own one.

Yeahhhhh, I'm part of the Slitheen Family.nomnomnommm.

Doctor Who makes the cool kids cooler.

Here we are Juggernaut!

"No this is not your playground,
it's my... heart!"

So yesterday, that time came again when I would once more be in the presence of one my all time favourite bands, Coheed and Cambria! They always deliver and well I just pure love them! It was a bit of a hassle to get the tickets it has to be said as I had ordered them as soon as I had recieved the email to only realise on the day (I know I should have realised earlier) that the tickets had not arrived! So panicked and with very little time I  tried ringing the O2 academy, and then tried to log in to every ticket website going as fortunately my email had been hacked a few weeks earlier in which everything was deleted! Which of course only added to the ever increasing amount of drama surrounding this!
So, Kelly and I decided to go through to town early to try and sort out the problem to only be told, 3 hours later, by the bank that the tickets had been refunded to me but I had not been told! Not Amused!!! Luckily a friend had two spare tickets and I was able to purchase them which made my day :D Anyway, the gig was amazing! Apart from the support band called 'These Monsters' who we saw getting high outside to only come out on stage and be utterly terrible. Maybe in their head they were awesome as the only understandable line they said throughout their entire set was  "WE ARE SO TOTALLY HAMMERED!" oh the joys! I wasn't able to get any photos as through all the commotion I forgot my camera *super sad face!* But heres a photo anyway!
Another awesome time of yesterday was the beautiful skinny Ginger Muffin and Mocha Light Frappucino that Kelly and I got from Starbucks! In general I prefer Costa as I like their blend of coffee better but I have to agree this was yummy!  (This muffin is demolished, I got toooo excited!)

Summmmmmmer!

I know I've just posted but all my posts which I would have posted have been stored up and are all tumbling out now!
So a continuation of what has happened in the previous post!

As well as being given the Singer sewing machine I was also given a beautiful vintage frame which is well just gorgeous, at the moment my plan is just to hang it with nothing in the frame to make my chimney breast to become a feature wall, more so than now. I feel in time to come I may get a piece of mirror cut and placed into it as it would be beautiful!

I love it when my Mum buys flowers inas they just remind me of spring and summer (as our seasons seem to just mix together now!) and well we have loads of flowers dotted around the house as well as two gorgeous pink poppies in the garden, loveeee!

Lastly, here is my lovely puppy. He is quite old now, near 10 months! Well old compared to 9 weeks! I loves him more than summer.

I think I'm finished now and I'm posted out better get ready for more fun times and ofc to top it off toooooo much to eat! I love it! nom.

Hey Kids!

I've been back from Download for over a week now and it's been so hectic!
The weather has been delicous and every day has been a mini-adventure. I really need to start taking my camera out more, which will be resolved today, even though I don't feel I will get many taken!

Download was amazing! The weather the first couple of days was a bit dire and from that the happiness diminished but come Friday and lo and behold, the sun came out! Many smiles came with it, I can assure you. The bands were amazing and I throughly enjoyed it apart from being waken up to Justin Beiber's teenie weenie? song! What a loser start to the day! Well Justin Beiber plus the copious amounts of planes landing a mere mile away from our tent! (Photo being of Jared the God from 30 Seconds to Mars; he's beautiful but can't sing live. Disappointed but still pretty to look at! Apart from the budgie haircut)

Since I've been back I've caught up with all the washing and other things that need to be done when returning from a trip as well as being out practically every day just because!
When I am at home my life focuses around the Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls and toast. Oh what a life, not even a joke!

Oooooo exciting news! I have been given an old Singer Sewing machine which I just adore. I loved it anyway but then I found out it was ELECTRIC and well I've been making everthing ever needed! Even if I don't need it. I have a modern sewing machine as well but using the old Singer makes me feel a big antique-y and just well, its beautiful!

As well as this my Mother asked me to return a dodgy router to a store in Team Valley and well for some reason they gave me cash, so even though it wasn't my money and I know it's wrong, I became super excited and hit TK Maxx, naughty I know but I loveeeee it! I got a new French Connection top and a straw basket (to replace mine that I broke about 3 years ago! a bit late but still!) I decided to make a cover for the straw bag to keep prying eyes and hands from forming attachments with my belongings! It's beautiful and I loves it! (Bag TK Maxx, Material Laura Ashley)

So overall, even though I've been near silent I've had a wonderful time and a fab start to the summer!

I wants to be Nigella, please?!

As I look at my diet I have come to realise it's actually APPALLING! (I had to type that four times and then google it as it just did not look right!)

I live off toast, that is pretty much it. Not that nice, not that nutricious but beautifully quick and easy to do. Whether it be for snack or a meal! I actually love toast. Too much probably!

But the variations are endless:
Oh yes, I said 335 ways! Woooo.

Even though the possibilites are indeed pretty much endless I feel I need to expand as well, I am now 21 and need to learn these things (I think!) So I am going to purchase a cooking book but not just any cooking book! Oh no no no, a Nigella Lawson cooking book! Her recipies always look delicious and easy as well as ALWAYS adding a pinch of sexiness to the recipe! I guess this could be seen as my mid-year resolution, even though the last batch went down as well....my cooking!

I would like to be Nigella please.

April Showers in June?!

So today is Sunday
Sunday the 6th of June
In three days time I will be sitting in a car heading off to the legendary monsters of rock/donnington and more commonly known now as Download Festival!
Woooooop!
I am very excited for this but what the hell is happening with the weather?!
I am officially cold blooded, like a lizard or snake, I find it incredibly difficult to warm up and when I do my temperature can drop immediately if I even walk into the shade!
On the other hand, I wouldn't say I was a sun worshipper as I burn soooo easily!
So as you can see Summer is a difficult time for me, wahhh. Ho hum.

Anywayyyy, back to the topic!
As much as I am looking forward to pile loads of win music and being with friends and probably eating as well as drinking excessively I really feel it would be more exciting without the rain!
(The current scene from my bedroom window!)
So when this is finished you will find me in my grey and miserable garden doing a sun dance!
YESSS I WILL HAVE SUNSHINE BY WEDNESDAY!
I may not be topless when I do it though!
