Idea.

Tomorrow Adam and I are starting a new diet/fitness regime and well because we are incredibly competitive we have decided to put a wager on.
For the person who loses the most weight per month the loser will buy the winner a £20 tattoo voucher.

Soooo because of this and the fact I miss blogging and it's a new chapter, I am thinking about starting a new blog either here, wordpress or tumblr (which is a little more fun) documenting my journey which would include fitness and diet tips. I would continue with imagining roses but my love has gone for the idea now, sad but true! (Well I may keep it for sentimental reasons)

Would anyone be interested in this? Xx

Indian Summer.

If you're from the UK, you will be doing one of two things at the moment;

1. Wearing too little

2. Complaining about how hot it is.

I am, unfortunately, a person of the latter option. I have moved out of my home and only brought my 'winter woolies' so now I am too warm! As I'm typing this the weather looks a bit awful at the moment, but I am expecting it to either pick up dramatically or walk out the front door and be hit with the warmth of this unusual October day. Again, I have been away from blogging for a while and again, I have no solid reason to why this is. I am considering taking some time out as I am lost for ideas at the moment as well as having too much on in my life to pay enough attention to this blog. It's sad, I know, but I'm living in shared accommodation (where everything is always going on) and when I'm not in, I'm at university or with Adam.

From writing this, I have decided to take at least 4 weeks out from blogging as I have been constantly rubbish at blogging and maybe I will be able to come up with some new ideas and feel passionate about doing this again. If nothing else, I will come back with a stack of photos that I will spam you all with!

I love stationery, I bet you're shocked as I never mention this!
So again, I have gone all out for my new uni books, last year I just had paperchase notebooks which you can see here, and now again I've gone for paperchase notebooks but I have covered them.

Just a quick message. Life is busy! University starts again very soon and I have a fair amount of work to do before going back. I can't wait to get back into a routine and actually do things as well as seeing my friends on a daily basis! The new house is going well, it turns out I'm obsessively clean and I am constantly cleaning- a shock to me and others! Sorry I've been away from the blog for so long, but I'm finally moved in and. sort of, settled! It has been quite a hassle with sky and internet but they are working now and here I am! My life isn't very exciting at the moment as I am trying to finish all my university work as well as getting ready for yet another year of study!

Home&Antiques magazine is lovely anyway but once I saw the cover for a Vintage inspired issue, I began to covet it immediately!
It has some lovely pieces in which I would like to share with you now! Like I've said before, my life at the minute is focusing around homeware and making my new place as comfortable as possible so this issue helps massively!

I absolutely adore the 50's look however I feel that for me that a darker palette is better at the moment. However, I know for a fact that when I find a place to settle down in I will focus on styles like the above to create a warm and friendly home. xx

I have known for a while about Urban Outfitters doing homeware but I have never looked into it properly. However with my heightened interest into homeware for my move I have been looking everywhere and my, oh my Urban Outfitters have a wide range of items that I like and want!

My life has been full of change as of late. I am preparing to move into my own little home come September as well as preparing for another year at University! Mostly I have been shopping for items for my new home as well as catching up on reading and meeting with friends! I've had a lovely time and here are some photos of what I have been upto, I promise to write a proper post later on today but I am just fitting this in around cleaning/washing and washing up!

I don't know any girl who doesn't like Cath Kidston and I feel that the new Autumn Collection is as perfect as ever.

I love all of these pieces, especially the blue floral dress and the black British Birds bag. I really want these items and I am thinking about how I can manage to afford them!

It appears that summer has left the UK and that we have now been plunged into an early Autumn/Winter in terms of weather. I don't mind colder weather but I absolutely detest rain, I find it utterly annoying. Currently it is constantly raining and I feel like a drowned rat on a daily basis, which is tremendous fun. I am lucky enough though to have a lovely summer umbrella in which I feel everyone should have.

My mum gave me this Monet umbrella which is lovely, she has one aswell but a different design, and I love it. People always look at it because its so lovely and I feel it slightly cheers me up in this weather.
So here are some other lovely umbrellas which are available at the minute, they are all from Brollies Galore.

I am off into the rain soon to meet Adam from work and go to the cinema to see Bridesmaids which I hear is hilarious, which I hope it is! I will be sure to take my Monet umbrella in the hope it can cheer me up!

However, this morning (when the weather was less worse) I decided to walk to Shields Road to have a look at the charity shops and I can tell you I was not impressed with the weather even when I had my trusty brolly!

A couple of posts back I mentioned the chicken noodle soup which I had made, I've now decided to share my secrets with you! My recipe has a lot more ingredients than some others, however I feel that this mix is delicious and worth the extra ingredients!

I hope you try and enjoy this recipe! Adam, who hates vegetables, even eats this soup so I must be doing something right! xx

Rucksack Tuesday.

Following the vintage theme from the bicycles, I have decided to explore the rucksacks which would go perfectly with them! Rucksacks seem to be making a comeback and I completely understand why as they seem so handy and useful!

However as I am a penniless student, I am going to show a wide range of prices; the cheaper prices for me and the more expensive for people who can actually afford life! :)

Bicycle Lust: BEG Bicycles.

I have a bike, a perfectly fine bike, however it's not one of these bikes. I swear if I have £675+ I would go and buy one right now! However I don't, so I am going to spruce up my old gem!

BEG Bicycles is a fabulous site which specialises in all vintage-esque bicycles and accessories! It is a lovely site which has some gorgeous bikes with names like Betty and Bella, you cannot go wrong! I really would like a Betty bike, ho hum. I am going to go look at ways of sprucing up my old bicycle, ahhh the life of a penniless student! xx

The last couple of weeks...

...have been awesome. The weather has been lovely, bar the humidity and subsequent storms, and my friends and I have definitely made the most of it! We have had at least 3 BBQ's as well as various meet ups and fun!
I found a new iPhone app named photo mess which allows me to make a montage, as such, with loads of my photos so here is a little insight into why I have been such a rubbish blogger.

Can you still feel the butterflies?

If anyone follows me on twitter then you'll know that I have just returned from London!
Adam and I went down there to see one of my all time favourite bands, Jimmy Eat World. I have always loved them and when they announced they would be playing two albums in full I was mightily excited! Intially I thought we had missed out on the chance to see them however Adam suprised me with two tickets :)

I do like London, however I could never live there with all the hectic hustle and bustle. As I am originally from a small close-knit mining village I feel that Newcastle is big enough for me; well for now anyway. I generally take loads of photos but due to the first day of summer, which turned out to be the wettest day I have encountered in a long time, I wasn't able to take many photos in fear of destroying my phone or camera! I would like to go back soon though. xx

Suki Tea.

Today my Mum and I went into Newcastle for a bit of a look around and we popped into Esquires and now I have a new love. They have this delightful tea brand called Suki Tea and my gosh its actually delicious. I don't like earl grey or 'normal' tea however I do like herbal tea and today I have discovered one of the best teas around and something that I NEED to invest in, right away. Suki Tea is all fairtrade and comes in a huge selection such as green tea, peppermint, red berry and my favourite 'apple loves mint' and loads more, yummy!

The little teapot has a special insert that allows the loose tea to be placed and the little board is standard for Suki Tea. I actually love this concept and I am saving up so I can get my own set.

I have just got back from Download and now I'm getting ready to jet off to London! I'm sorry I haven't been around but y'know busy, busy bee! While at Download I saw so many differenty styles of Dr. Martens and it reminded me of why I love them so much! I used to own a couple of pairs (which my Mum has stolen now; yeah she's actually majorlly cool like that) and I miss them! Why is it the day after bank holiday weekend its sunny?!

As you'll know I'm from Newcastle and the weather has been awful at the moment, its rain and windy alllll of the time and its hugely annoying! However today the weather has started to cheer up a little today which is nice and filling me a little with hope for the upcoming summer.

Guest Post: Emily & the Royal Wedding.

I watched the Royal Wedding like millions of other people and yes I was caught up in the romance and festivity of the occasion. I daydreamed about finding my own Prince Charming and a grand state-wedding but when the Royal Rolls-Royce rolled up, all that daydreaming was instantly whisked away and my mind focused on one intense thought.

What is she wearing?

Not a snide, OMG! What is she wearing?! But one of pure interest, anticipated jealousy and curiosity.

It seems silly now, looking back on the Medias nearly hysterical obsession with the ‘Royal Fashion Parade’. After all, the occasion is for the bride and groom to enjoy, do we have the right to analyse and speculate over every item of clothing they’re wearing. What designer is it, how does this reflect on Lady Diana, who is she emulating, what implications does this have for the High-Street (and where can I get something similar). The first copycat-dress was produced 24hours by a boutique Wedding Dress makers in Scotland, and more of varying budgets and qualities are sure to follow. Aren’t we devaluing the couple’s day when we look down our noses and sneer when we don’t agree with what Princess Anne is wearing or that Lemon isn’t a suitable colour for the Queen? We all think the Royal’s live a very-privileged life, which of course they do, but this is also their curse, they don’t have the same freedom that everyone else enjoys. Every action must be planned and every spoken sentence thought about and apparently, whatever whims of style they want to enjoy, they must endure the criticism of people who don’t agree, but these opinions are bandied out to millions of people via highly-influential people.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t self-analyse Kate’s (sorry Catherine’s) dress, even her engagement dress and the following race to get it into the retailers. Yes, I did raise an eyebrow at some extravagant outfits and gossip about it with my family and friends. I guess there’s some hypocrisy there but hey, I’m only human.

Whether it’s right or not, we all indulge in it but we should step-back and take a look at ourselves sometimes, if Her Grace chooses to wear such-and-such because she likes it, good for her I say and everyone else can be damned.

Lunctime Love.

As I am on placement at the moment I find that I am taking a packlunch in everyday. I am one of those people that hate packlunches and I love the allure of fancy food, mostly fatty food, and how much I would like it instead of my bland sandwiches!
However, I have found that since my newest purchase (oh, eBay how I love you) lunchtimes have become slightly more exciting.
Meet my burger lunchbox!

It's based on a Bento box so has many compartments in which I can have little delights of many foods. Currently I have been having salad in the top compartment with something more hearty in the main, bottom compartment. Lately it has either been rice and ham, like the photos, or noodles with some lovely concoction.

As I have posted earlier I now have bamboo steamers so I feel that I can totally explore some delicious pathways in which I can totally enjoy lunchbox lunches. I feel that I may try steamed salmon with ginger and chilli. How exciting! What do you have in your lunchbox? xx

Cupcake Heaven

A couple of posts ago I had banged around the idea of making cupcakes. Alas this has not happened yet but I do hope it will...this weekend hopefully! I have been lusting over photos of cupcakes (again on Pinterest) and my mind is flying all over the place thinking 'oh I could do that, bang tidy'. I don't feel like I will have much talent at first but I am going to perfect this art as they look so delicious!

How to Make a House a Home.

I've recently been invited to Pinterest (I have some extra invites if some people are interested) and I love how many beautiful photos I look at on a daily basis. One area I seem to be focusing on more so would be the home photos which look so comfortable. Ahhhh, if only I could afford to do this!

Also the fact that I spend most of my time in my bedroom so its more like a living room/bedroom I find I am unable to have an all white bedset as I tend to be messy! Ahhh, I cannot wait to get my own home so I can maybe have a white bedroom! xx

BRB, but I didn't mean for this amount of time! I am so sorry for being absent for so long.
However I do have a very good reason behind it! Adam and I had food poisoning from undercooked chicken, which resulted in both of us being laid up in bed for just under a week! On top of this I have now started my second and final placement of my first year, so again that has been incredibly hectic.

However the few days in which I have felt okay, I have made the most of it!

Chinese Bamboo steamer with noodles before and after, with some steamed mange toit, they were actually delicious! Really enjoyed it. I hope to make some lovely, sweer goodies this weekend and if I do, I promise to keep you informed! Hope you are all well xx

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a lovely day! I have decided that I am going to spread my birthday over a week so that I can have special days with many different special people. I got lots of lovely presents but I would like to bring attention to one in particular.

Wreck this Journal is a book by Keri Smith, and it focuses around the individual carrying out small tasks within the book so that memories can be made. I like this idea as it allows me to stand outside of my own box and not always be a perfectionist within notebooks, I have wicked OCD relating to this :).

It tells people to carry this journal around with them everywhere incase another page can be completeled, I doubt I will manage this but I am going to try, at the very least :) xx

I love a good ol' pair of Converse trainers as I find them so comfortable and the fact they last for an extrememly long time is always a bonus. Converse have just released a new collaboration which features Paloma Faith, Bill Ryder-Jones and Graham Coxon, in support of a new range of shoes and music collaboratively being released!

Paloma is one of the only female artists, available at the minute, who I do actually think is rather talented. And lets be fair to the girl, she's not exactly quiet with her fashion sense.

I'm sorry I've been so MIA, yet again, I have been busy! So I apologise, though I am going to try and be a bit more regular with posting as I don't like bloggers that just stop so I need to pull my finger out!

One of the many reasons why I haven't been able to blog is because last weekend I decided to take my Mum to York for Mother's Day! We had so much fun and York is such a beautiful place and, thankfully, it was great weather.

In 9 days it is my birthday and I will hit the grand ol' age of 22!

Following this I don't want a lot, well nothing off the top off my head, and there is nothing that I need so I decided to be completely extravagant and ask for another pair of glasses! I have a pair of Police sunglasses which are based on Ray Bans Wayfarers and so I decided to see whether I could find a pair for my day-to-day glasses.

And well I found this pair! Aren't they just so pretty?! I cannot wait to go pick them up :)

Unfortunately my Mum won't let me go and collect them until the day of my birthday but hey ho!

FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

And my gosh am I excited! Not as excited as some people I know who have casually decided to now officially adopt shorts until winter but hey ho, each to their own. I have been completely missing in action regarding blogging and I apologise. I just have a hell of a lot of work to do on top of my normal routine; we only had 5 weeks of uni in between two placements. I love placement though and cannot wait to find out when my next one is!

Even though I have decided against the shorts, I am so excited for some warmer weather; the weather has been lovely here lately. I have been out and about and not feeling freezing, which of course is what I need! Blood Brothers.

Blood Brothers is one of my all time favourite musicals. It's up there with 'RENT', 'We Will Rock You' as well as many others. (RENT will always be my all time favourite and I throughly recommend it to everyone!)
Last night, I was lucky enough to see Blood Brothers yet again with my Mum and yet again it was amazing. I have seen this musical countless times and, luckily, I have seen one of the main characters called Mickey, played by the same actor who is amazing! Every time I have been it has been a different mother, Mrs Johnston, but last night was by far my favourite (Sorry the Nolan sisters!). Suprisingly she was actually a finalist in X Factor back in the day but didn't win it because she didn't have the commercial presence behind it. Personally I'm glad she didn't win as she was fab! I'm not entirely sure how many dates are left at Newcastle, or if any tickets are left, but I feel if there is everyone should go!

One of the reasons I love this musical so much is part of the story is about the childhood side of their lives but instead of getting children in the adults act like children and Micky is the blatantly amazing at this. I have seen this particular Micky (below) in every production I have been to see and I can see why they keep him on, he has made the part his own. Obviously I won't give the entire plot away but its set within a working class town in which a Mother has been left by her husband while she has a bunch of kids and twins on the way; following this the rich women who Mrs Johnston works for cannot have babies and forces Mrs J into letting her adopt one of the twins. It is said that if a twin is to find out he was one of a pair that when they discover this they will die and well, whos to say! You better go watch it to find out! xx

Recently my life has been revolving around music and going out. A rock n' roll lifestyle perhaps? Ahh I wish! However lately has been such fun! Like I've already posted, I have been to Manchester to see Destroy Rebuild... well, I've been to see them again! This time in my hometown of Newcastle, again we got to meet them, this time because Adam won a meet&greet, and again they were lovely.

This time Adam, Terry, Lawson, Abbi and I hit a local bar beforehand for a few beverages in which I have found the most delicious beers known to man! I'm not even a fan of beer but these Raspberry and Cherry alternatives are definately something everyone should try!

I currently have many plans for all different things so I am planning them one by one! I like having things to look forward to! xx

P.S I feel as I have been lacking in posts recently, mainly because I'm back at uni today, I feel I will whip some out today :)

I've just got back from Manchester. Adam and I were there to go and see a band called Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (aka, D.R.U.G.S. No they do not do them)

And well what I can say?! One of the best gigs I have ever been too! And how pretty is Manchester, such a lovely place. Adam has promised to take me back for a weekend of shopping which would be nice :) Anyway photos can say it better than me plus I'm proper knackered! xx

Adam and I made a scrumptious Roast Dinner on Sunday, I would love to say I made it all however I mostly just aided the situation, and I thought I would elaborate on it!

Beef, marrowfat peas, carrots, yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and sooooo much mashed potato (the mash was made by own fair hand!)

I'm not a great cook, as many of you will know, but I'm proud of my little contribution :)

As my blog has had, what I would call it, a Spring time makeover I thought I would create a set to reinforce this!

I want to be able to go out without a jacket! I want to have picnics and be with friends outside and not inside with a hot drink. I want to wear my beautiful sunglasses (even though I am wearing them while driving, it is not the same!) Ahhhh, warm and long days are the best!

I've just googled the first day of Spring and its the 20th of March, this has come as a massive blow to me. Buttttt, I am starting to buy suncream to go back into my routine or applying it from March onwards so that will make me feel slightly closer to the goal than not...hopefully!

These little black dresses, from H&M, are my main wardrobe staple...like EVER. I totally recommend everyone getting some as they are completely versatile. and so easy to work with!

...I get new stationery! I have a small love, which most of you wil already know, and it's only getting worse!

I would love to say these new notebooks were needed but they're not. Well one is, but two is just greedy. Buttttt, they do match my collection and will allow one of my tutors to continue talking way too much.

Again, they are like my other notebooks, so much so they follow the same retro/vintage theme as well as sporting a plastic cover which is just sooooo good when you're like me and tend to spill things within my bag,

I haven't been able to shop much in the sales due to my increasing hatred of crowds and bustling-sale-finding people. They have the 'bargain' on the mind and no-one, and I mean no-one, will get in their way. So in general, I tend to just try and stay away. Saying this I have braved it a few times to only emerge with some awesome goodies!

Here is another tip! Well not really a tip but it's me tidying and sorting my room and being mega impressed that I'm actually serious about it this time! Most of my time on this earth will be me living in a flux in which I live in the moment and I hate tidying. I used to keep all my brooches in my chicken mug but since my lovely red bow hair clip died I have resurrected it so that all my brooches are organised!

Just attach brooches! It's amazing how much thought went into this.

It just keeps all my brooches together. My special brooches I do keep in a jewelry box though. I love brooches as I tend to pick them up from places I visit or they are gifts from special people.

Even though I have organised my brooches, I still keep them in the chicken mug. I mean how can you not love it?! xx

I have well too many earrings, like WAYYYY too many. I will buy new pairs just becasuse "they're nice!". I panicked when I realised storing all these earrings in a pot was not the best idea so I went on a hunt for a better idea and came up with this!
While on the hunt, I found this pretty bird feeder which was only a few pounds and I've now piled it up with earrings! Good, no? :)

Christmas Eve!

It is one day until Christmas and I am being a complete grinch because of the snow. I know it cannot be helped and what not but I have never been a lover and with all my parcels and general life being put on hold, I don't appreciate!
I am looking forward to a few quiet days. Quiet and healthy, as I have been pigging out so much lately but I'm putting it down to hibernation weight, ho hum.
Even though its only Christmas Eve, I have been lucky enough to recieve a few goodies!

I am also fortunate to have a new phone, as mine was dying a death, and look how pretty the case is! Now that is what I call a proper cover! (Cover, Ebay)Some new plasters, as I damage myself more than most! This little perfume is lovely and at a mere £2.99, a complete bargain! I love carrying a perfume around with me in my bag but hate carrying anything expensive as I tend to lose everything this is the perfect solution! (Circus plasters, gift. Perfume, H&M) A buddha statue and some lovely new candes! I love having candles and oils burning. (Candles, Ikea. Buddha, Durham Christmas Market) Some gorgeous bangles! Which don't fall off my child-like wrists. I don't think anyone will fully understand this achievement. Oh Well. (Bangles, Asda)

I am afraid to say it but, I really am a bit of a Grinch. It is probably because as a whole, my family isn't exactly close and we don't all meet up for a big meal. Which I'm kinda thankful for, as I hate huge shindigs. I hate big groups of people-even when it is family.
Saying all this however this year, I am feeling slightly more festive. Not tremendously but I would say my heart has grown at least one size! Soooooo, to get myself even more in the mood, I have a big pile of Christmas-sy DVDs to watch and overindulge in festive foods!

My life is pretty good at the minute...minus the HUGE amount of work I have had to do. However it is my fault that I left it to the last minute....kinda.
When I haven't been doing work I have adopted a side of a bed and even left items in two houses so I need to g back! I have decided I love being in town, I love being so close to everyone and everything!

So close in fact that in the past 10 ten days I have been to the tattooist 3 times. 3 times?! you may say! How hardcore I do sound and I wish I could say it was all for me but alas, not even one time was for me! Humf. It will be soon however!
The sound of the gun freaks me out a bit but I love the people who I went with so its'all good! Two sessions have been with Kate and her rose tattoo which goes up her ribs (photo to the left, not finished by the way) and once with someone else.

Anyway from being there too many times with other people and not enough for me it had pushed me into getting a bigger tattoo. At the minute I am sporting a little heart tattoo on my wrist which is 'super cute' well thats what the tattooist said today, so I'm sticking with that!

We've been snowed in! Completely! It's hectic, people have fallen over and fractured ankles (get well soon, John!) as well as falling over in roads! Its been cold and traumatic...well, kinda.
I've actually had a pretty good time even though its cold and horrible. On Saturday night as a last minute plan I decided to go to town to see my uni friends to only find I would be there until earlier today! I have been snowed in...in Newcastle!
To be fair, it was warm, I had fun and amazing food but its only when it came to the point where my only choice would be to wear man boxers I decided to try and battle my way home. Battle is the complete right word as the buses are all over the place and on top of this lousy fact, the bus I was on broke down and made me walk for miles to get home!
Upsetting to say the least...unlikely prospects of me getting to university tomorrow. Ho Hum.

Home Sweet Home!

Sometime this week, I will hopefully be signing some contracts so that I will be fully ready to move out next year! I am a little excited, to say the least, and I feel its a long time coming!
Even though it is so many months away, I am thinking I will start buying things soon so that the price is spread out!
I did originally fancy the attic room but being the height that I am, similar to a giant, I am unable to claim it and from this Kate has claimed it and squealed at every attic room we saw! Lol.
As the attic room has been claimed, I have claimed the second biggest room which is only fair as Kate&I are organising it! :) Obviously as it is student accomodation, boo, it will be filled with basic furniture and without the possibility of redecorating so I am banished to shopping for amazing accessories, which isn't that difficult in all fairness. I always feel the cold and I'm thinking having a white/cream room with light accessories (original plan) will only hinder me becoming warm. Odd, I know but its true. It's harder to become warm in a cold looking room...Fact. (Well, maybe)

Soooooo, as purple is my favourite colour I feel I will be focusing around that :)

I have been completely submerged with work recently and a bit lazy to be honest. I keep meaning to come on and write something but then I get in, or go out with friends, and I get completely distracted! So I'm sorry but I'm back :)

Ohhh I have to share this! I was walking behind this woman the other week in town and well I became that annoying person who walks too closesly! But, I really needed to take a photo of this! She actually walked into Northumbria Uni City library so if anyone knows who she is lemme know!

I keep saying I want to be more eco-friendly but I just don't get around to it...if thats possible! I do try and turn lights and plugs off and the like but other than that I drive my car ALOT and well I don't plan on changing it. When we cannot see because of the smog or we actually start drowning because of the melting icecaps I will probably stop...Is that bad? Probably but they keep changing their minds so I will continue!

I have some photos that I need to upload so I will get on that now. (I have some on my camera and phone and some which I am waiting to be sent to me!) I will upload some maybe :).

I've seen many photos and heard a lot of things about the new movement following TOMs shoes and I just thought 'yeah they're the new thing' no thought went in to it really. But after reading in the December issue of Marie Claire I've discovered they do a lot more than provid footwear for us!
It all started with Blake Mycoskie who was a young businessman who saw poverty and decided to change it. This is when Shoes for Tomorrow came in and basically for every pair of TOMs sold he will donate another pair ro a child who needs shoes! I love this idea! It's so lovely, I don't normally buy into movements of this sort but I think I really could as its just such a good cause!

Halloween was amazing and I completely loved it! For once there was only maybe one, possibly two, who were not dressed up which is pretty epic! Even though 98% of girls were nurses covered in blood and nearly all boys were just in blood stained white shirts! ahah. Bless. My friends and I were dressed up and of course we went all out! We had Queen of Hearts, Alice in Wonderland, Death on Vacation (Oh yes, inventive) and of course me, I was a Lion Tamer/Ring Leader! I turned more into a ring leader as I didn't take my stuffed lion out as I knew I would either lose it or someone would steal it! I don't have many photos as I couldn't find my camera charger so that died :( I have a few though so enjoy!

Lawson is a Ninja and Ben is a guy with a few bandages wrapped around. I think the idea was mummy but thats a kinda fail attempt :) lol.

As I didn't have a lion with me I adapted and decided to include a chair within my costume. Needless to say I only adapted for one photo... My homemade jacket which startd out as a good idea and then took soooo long! Was so frustrating but it worked in the end, yeyy.

Yes I am aware that its another My Chemical Romance title but its because I went and saw them in Edinburgh and well, they were EPIC. Not much else to be said apart from Edinburgh kids are brutal but the band are just as pretty, some prettier than others, and they seemed to have returned to a more gritty state in which I approve. They have changed somewhat as back in my day (yes I'm 90) Frank Iero was the second main man but now young Mikey is. Fair play Mikey, you are no longer the shy ridden boy hiding at the back of the stage behind his big glasses and even bigger hair.

As I was only going for a night I didn't want to take too many clothes as it would be too much to carry...I packed accordingly which is suprising and amusing when I saw how much Kelly had packed (Bless choo!) So here goes!

Had an amazing time and well I love Edinburgh! I ate too much and walked so much my feet still ache today! But I wouldn't change a thing.

We found this super cute museum which was about Scottish Literary Writers. It was a complete stumble-upon moment as we couldn't find it advertised anywhere and it was only because we saw words carved into the wall (below) and the floor which led up the little museum! It was soooo cute inside though and would say to go just to explore! (For people who want to go...you need to go up the Mound and then you'll see a little cut to your right, go up there!)

The huge amount of food we had in one sitting but was gorgeous! I had the potato skins, cheese&bacon and Kelly had the Tomato&Mozzerella Salad. We both tried and failed to have these cheeseburgers and had to resort to taking the half-finished things with us!

And of course the band in question! I enjoyed, a lot. :) Now back to doing workkkk, humf.

The term guyliner has suddenly leapt into the public forum and its a bit contraversial.
A bit like Marmite, you love it or hate it. It seems that it isn't confined to punk stars and the like anymore and its more of a universal ploy. I personally have a bit of a love for the guyliner and well, to be completely honest this post is to look at beautiful men and drool!

The Chronicles of Narnia is one of the only set of books I have ever completed. It's not that I haven't wanted to with other sets but they don't hold the same allure that the Narnia books do.

The whole purpose of this post is to tell you all how excited I am that the new Narnia film will be out this Christmas! Ahh, too excited!

As I've mentioned before I am an old lady and I find the style of clothes from Narnia to be gorgeous. They are the sort of clothes I would love to wear every day...full of tweeds and florals and lovely, lovely knits! Ohhhh I wish I was back then.

I found this photo while I was trawling through one of my favourite sites for Vintage photos which is called My Vintage Vogue (Click here to go there!).
It features photos from many different genres. This photo really stood out for me as I find it fascinating that this was from the 1920s and oh my would these has been Risque! Love the rebellion!
I have been looking at H! by Henry Holland for Pretty Polly tights lately and I feel this photo has inspired to just go for it!

Yesterday I said I would post a photo of my beautiful new satchel and here it is! Ahhhhhh.

In't it loverly?! It was a bargain as well for only £30 from Topman! Yes, TopMAN....I will be going back to have another look soon I believe. I definitely need big bags like as I carry soooo much. Too much probably.

While shopping today I stumbled into Zara and my, oh my what lovely clothes are in at the minute. I am an old lady, behind the young 21-year-old facade, and I love everything which I shouldn't. Such as florals, tweeds and much, much more! However, I have accepted this..My Mother hasn't but that may be because even she isn't old enough to like half of the stuff I like!

Zara is amazing at doing things I like, especially at the minute, they have brought older styles and materials together with slightly modern designs. I approve, ohhh yes. All available instore or Zara Online!

I love all of these items and well they are all reasonably priced. The most expensive being the leather bag (top left) at £49.99 and the least expensive being the bird tee (bottom right) which is £14.99! The skirts are all £22.99! I may have to go back!

I did buy a gorgeous satchel today! I have been looking into getting one for a while, I didn't need one as I have a lovely red one, but still I was on the lookout and found a gorgeous one in Topman! I will upload a photo hopefully tomorrow :) xx

Soooo, what is wool week you may be asking? Well, it's all down to our one&only HRH Charles, would you believe, and his need to encourage people to buy wool as it's on the downfall. This new campaign is supported by big-name stores such as Debenhams, John Lewis and M&S.

There is many different events due to take place this week including the famous Saville Row to be closed to allow Bowmoor&Exmoor Horn sheep to dawdle down! Prince Charles is all about the enviroment and the multi-purpose use of wool which can be used for fashion, industry&home. It's a pretty epic campaign because as he says it is sustainable and doesn't harm any sheep, it's a haircut! Wool is atural, sustainable and biodegradable, wool is also incredibly versatile. It is elastic, highly insulating, and water repellent, and can be strong and hard wearing as well as soft and delicate. It can be dyed and combined with other fibres to produce different effects – the possible end uses for wool seem endless! (You can find out more HERE!)

Halloween is a stressful time these days! Before it wasn't that big in the UK and it's only in recent years that it has become as big as it has. I think I just like the idea of being 21 and the allowed act of dressing up! This year however has brought more pain than joy!

They want to stand out but for the right reasons..not for boobs out and covered in fake blood. Which lets be honest is a trending theme it seems. Deary me! I think I'm gonna be something boring like a cat! ahah, oh wow. Eccentric I know! xx

It's that time of year again! The time where you travel to work/uni and other places in the dark spend the day there and then return home in the dark! Seeing light is a rare occurance and if you're like me, standing outside in the freezing cold just to see some light is not high on my priorities list.
I do love being able to wear millions of layers and walking around looking like the michelin man because you're allowed in Winter. No-one likes to be cold and well I'm spparently cold-blooded anyway so wrapping up even in the summer months is a thing for me. I would love to be able to hibernate like bears, to just forget the world, to be peaceful and warm. Oh what a life.

I love it when my Mum comes into my room bringing a box. That box is ALWAYS full of goodies and things I know I will like. Today was hats! I love wearing hats and have a bunch of different ones but the ones that were brought to me this morning were different, a bit special if you will. These hats were hats from many different times, for example one from Hastings when I was 16. Another from Brighton when I was 19 and I was there for Gay Pride and I bought it off this stall. These hats hold memories, whether it be small or huuuuge. Love boxes from my Mum.

This peaked hat came from a stall in London and it was the most amazing woman who sold it to me. She was only about 5foot tall and was wearing all of the colours under the sun in one outfit. She looked amazing.

First off the bat.
Go see Made in Dagenham.
Right now. Don't hesitate. Just Go.

It is totally epic and just a truly beautiful film. It focuses around the female machinists who worked within the Ford company. It follows the women being shunned and ignored to becoming completely triumphant. I laughed and I cried. Just totally amazing, so much so I would see it again...completely in awe. The fact that is a true story is in itself wonderful but has been depicted beautifully. I do love British films.

I have always had a slight interest in social history, that's why I'm going into Social Work, but it was only to a broad extent never to an in-depth look like this. I am completely astounded at the courage of the main ring leader Rita O'Grady and her courage to continue the strikes even though there was extreme pressure on her to back down and give in. But of course, no! The women win, first off with a 92% equivalent pay wage to the men but then for it to be completely equal. (Of course this needs to be reviewed again now as this is not the case but still)

As well as loving the story I completely adored the fact the main woman, Rita O'Grady, was my woman from Persuasion! (Otherwise known as Sally Hawkins in real life!) Well, that was another contibuting factor for my admiration. ANDDD Roasmund Pike played a role as an educated woman who was shoved into the 'perfect housewive' role. Oh I love her as well!

Gahhh, I want to be her.

One line that really shone out for me was when Rita was arguing with her husband and he kept saying how she was privileged to have such a nice husband that didn't 'raise his hand' to her or their children and how he was nice and didn't spend all his money on drink and she screamed "They are RIGHTS not PRIVILEGES" Well! Loved it, completely true. Its what people fundamentally miss, not just in this, but in all areas of life. It is a right to be treated with respect and for people to be courteous, not necessarily over-pleasant, but nice enough that we don't feel duped.

Anyway, go see it! Seriously!

Oh I loved the end when Rita was saying how she had borrwed her BIBA dress and Barbara Castle was saying her outfit was from C&A. Ahhh, love this film!

I also just want to share with you this devastating piece of news. The pier that I've grown up with has been burned down. It was such a monument to me as I used to spend half of my childhood in Hastings and would play on the pier all the time.On top of this my Mum had dances and gigs on the pier when she was younger. It is such a shame and has greatly upset me that somebody could burn it down in such a thoughtless act. It will be greatly missed and whenever I venture back down to Hastings it will be odd not to go on and have a scout around. To even go get the old pennies and play with the old amusements. Ho hum, such is life. It's just a tremendous shame.

So sad!

Despite this, I just love these books they have just the right amount of information in them! I got the little blue travellers book from Lintzford and the other three (Chic Paris, Chic London&Artistic London) from TKMaxx, but I know they do a wider selection on their site :) such Goutmet books for loads of cities!

A while back while scouting through blogs I saw that some people had specialised fonts for their post&widget titles. So after googling it and deciding that it didn't look too hard I decided to develop my knowlege into html. WELL, its hard! I would not recommend it to someone who is not too hot on computers, like myself tbh. However, it is slowly coming together and I promise to have it up properly soon! I knowwww, I'm such an awful blogger but Uni is hectic! Brutally so. I've posted before on the long hours well, I'm kinda getting used to them (apart from the fact I get up and ready in the pitch black) but the workload is HUGE already! I have weekly presentations on top of seminar&lecture work so yes, when I get home I tend to crawl onto the sofa or bed and cabbage out without having to think of anything...bar any work due for the next day.

This bag definitely deserves it own little line. It is beautiful, like completely! I have totally fallen in love with it and its far superior and therefore overtook the bag I loved in M&S. Mainly because it was only £2.99 annnnnd it fits EVERYTHING in! Loving it like that!!

Thinking of You!

I'm sorry for the lack of posts but its official, I'm shattered! (This post has been laying around for a few days now...) I am getting up at 6.00am near every morning to then leave the house for 7.15am to arrive at Uni for 9am! It's a big hectic, especially with the summer I've had in which I tended to try and steer clear of any routine. Which of course is now coming back to bite me in the behind.

Buttt, apart from this I have had little time to go out and see some friends which has been most fun. Little pleasures certainly are delicious at the minute (my brutal workload has already started!).

Sometime last week (I've also lost any awareness of time&day atm) I went through to the MetroCentre with my friend and we hit the brand new TKMaxx. It is LOVELY! I really like it, maybe because its new and shiny...but also because its tidy! That is one of my main gripes of shopping there is the fact its a bit like a jumble sale and hit-or-miss a lot of the time. Alas, the tidiness and order won me over!
I didn't buy any clothes or anything this time although I did stand and hold a Versace and Dolce&Gabana bag for a very long time...until I came across this!

You may ask what it is...well, it is a lovely writing set!
As much as I am consumed by technology (and continously baffled) I can pretty much say I would love to live without it! I love the idea of recieving a letter and being excited for it to arrive and the historical routine of replying and placing a stamp on it and sending it away!
This whole love probably fits in with the fact that I love the idea of courting...and where do I see courting the most?! Period dramas, thats where! I love it sooo, sooo much! I was completely born in the wrong era. Write me a letter and I'm yours for life, sad but true.

As well as ALL this there was also a cute little book which contains examples of how to write the perfect letter.

I'm so impressed with this and it came in at a mere £3.99! I have an elderly family friend who I feel will be the first person to recieve a card off me!

Quickly before I go to bed (yes, I am that tired...) here is two goodies I picked up from Primark for utterly cheap prices of course!

This little notebook isn't from Primark but Wilkinsons and was a mere 65p! It is so cute and has a whole range in this design. I feel I may be going back for another look soon!

This is just a quick outfit post before I speed out. It's quite a simple, and some may say boring, outfit. But again, its so comfortable that I don't mind! I like going out and being immensely comfortable whereas some of my other clothes I will go out pulling the arms down and such, just generally fussing over what I'm wearing. With this I don't have to! I feel that sometimes my dress sense is sometimes a little introvert and I aim to change it this year.

(I'm unaware of what my collarbone is doing in the middle photo, best keep small children away from this photo as its freaky&could result in tears before bed.)

Silk, Lace & Leather.

This was taken after a full day at Uni this week. As you can see I was knackered, still am, and I had just had to walk two miles in the pouring down rain so my hair hated me. Needless to say I came in and had a nice hot bath! However, I did like this outfit. (Would have liked it more had the rain not have came)
